Strengthen translational research!

Translational research combines scientific discoveries from the laboratory with the application of scientific results in the clinic. Key problems are identified in the clinic and translated into research questions. At the same time, new discoveries gained on the scientific side are then returned to the real world in the clinic in a timely manner, for example in the form of new treatment strategies or clinical studies. Thus, patients and society directly benefit from new scientific findings.

The Translational Advisory Board aims to improve treatment methods and cancer patients’ quality of life by supporting the implementation of translational research. The focus of the Advisory Board is to strengthen translational research projects in terms of content, methodology and strategic desicions and to establish scientific findings from these projects in clinical care.

The Translational Advisory Board consists of a pool of members composed of clinical and basic scientific experts who provide care for oncology patients. A special focus of the members is on national and international clinical and scientific networking as well as being well connected to partners from other research areas and industry.
