Research is indispensable for excellent tumor medicine

The chances of curing cancer or stopping its growth in such a way that patients can live well for as long as possible despite the presence of the disease have never been better. Cancer research has made giant strides worldwide. Understanding how cancer develops and how it behaves in particular ways, keeps scientists and doctors immensely busy. The most important goal, however, is to continue to make progress in this area, to find new cancer therapies and to develop existing treatments further, taking into account all therapeutic modalities and thus, to continuously improve the chances of cure for patients with cancer.

Cancer Care and Research

In the interest of all tumor patients of today and tomorrow, we want to offer the very best cancer therapy. In order to enable further progress and improvements in early detection, diagnosis and therapy of cancer, physicians from all disciplines are engaged in science with the aim of increasing quality of life of cancer patients, further reducing the number of cancer cases and offering those affected even more effective therapies against the disease.
This is also done at the CCCA in close cooperation with various national and international research groups. An important task and elementary characteristic of cancer-related research at the CCCA is to establish and further develop the close interaction of laboratory and clinical research as well as applied oncology (translational research). With the great goal of being able to apply findings from basic research as quickly as possible for the benefit of our patients.
