Coagulation disorders in children and adolescents

We care for children with congenital or acquired coagulation disorders. These are conditions associated with a tendency to thrombosis or bleeding.  

• Consultation and assessment in cases of suspected thrombosis
• Consultation and assessment in cases of suspected bleeding tendency (nosebleeds, increased bruising, increased and heavier menstrual bleeding, preoperative assessments)
• Interdisciplinary care for children after thrombosis, stroke or pulmonary embolism
• Interdisciplinary and continuous care for children with a tendency to bleed (e.g. von Willebrand syndrome, haemophilia A and B)
• Interdisciplinary care for girls with heavy menstrual bleeding
• Care for children with coagulation disorders during and after surgery

As part of a cross-clinic cooperation, our patients with blood clotting disorders (especially haemophilia) are cared for in collaboration with colleagues from the Dr. von Hauner Children's Hospital in Munich.
