Cardiac Catheterization Centre Augsburg

This state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization room offers operating theatre-level air quality and is equipped with advanced fusion imaging and intracardiac ultrasound. These technologies enable precise diagnosis and treatment of the heart in a exceptionally safe environment. In this hybrid-operating room transcatheter heart valve and structural interventions are performed.

Both structured procedures such as the minimally invasive implantation of new heart valves and the interventional repair and treatment of leaking heart valves and septal defects are carried out, as well as interventional procedures such as the opening of narrowed coronary arteries. These procedures contribute to improving heart health in a particularly gentle manner.

Cardiac catheterization rooms 2 and 3 are also equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offer, in addition to precise fluoroscopic imaging, intracoronary imaging for the most accurate and detailed representations of the heart’s blood vessels (coronary arteries).

Here we can measure blood flow in the heart using ultra-fine wires. These advanced procedures enable highly precise therapy, so that we can plan the insertion of vascular stents extremely accurately and limit their use to what is necessary.

In rooms 4 and 5 of the Augsburg Heart Rhythm Centre, our experienced specialists treat patients with all types of cardiac arrhythmias.

In our electrophysiology laboratory, we use the latest technology (4D/4D mapping) to examine how the electrical signals in the heart function and whether there are any disturbances that lead to heart rhythm problems.

Targeted treatments, such as ablations, can successfully treat these disturbances. Radiofrequency ablation, cryoablation and pulsed field ablation are performed at the Heart Rhythm Centre.
