Augsburg University Hospital has two locations in Augsburg - Stenglinstraße (Kriegshaber) and Sauerbruchstraße (Haunstetten). The Augsburg Children's Hospital | Mother-Child Centre Swabia is also located in Stenglinstraße.
As an all-round care provider, i.e. a hospital providing the highest level of care, Augsburg University Hospital offers almost all medical specialities under one roof - for the citizens of the city and district of Augsburg as well as the entire district of Swabia with around two million inhabitants.
Augsburg University Hospital comprises a total of 23 clinics and six institutes, as well as other medical treatment areas and centres. Around 7,600 employees (as of 30 December 2024), 1,160 doctors and around 3,100 nurses are working for the health of patients.
Augsburg University Hospital is undergoing an exciting process of change: on 1 January 2019, the municipal company Klinikum Augsburg became Augsburg University Hospital under the sponsorship of the Free State of Bavaria. The hospital now bridges the gap between medical care and pioneering research and teaching.
