CCCA | Interdisciplinary Care

Together for You!

The diagnosis of cancer is initially difficult and threatening for all of those affected. Thererfore, it is very important to use all available options from the very first beginning to help tumor patients fight their disease as effectively and sustainably as possible. At the CCCA, every patient is provided with professional competence in all its (possible) diversity through interdisciplinary cooperation.

This is achieved by bringing together the necessary experts depending on the clinical situation of each patient and jointly developing treatment concepts that represent the optimal approach for the individual case.

Naturally, all diagnostic and treatment procedures comply with the highest current national and international treatment standards, which are used for the benefit of the patients entrusted to us.

Interdisciplinary consultations

Within the CCCA's Central Entry Portal, patients with tumor diseases have the opportunity to be primarily seen on an outpatient basis and counseled in an interdisciplinary dialogue. Together with the patient and the experts of the respective disciplines, therapy planning and any necessary additional diagnostics are discussed and subsequently all measures are coordinated. It is very important to us to offer expeditious scheduling to save patients from grueling waiting times as much as possible.

Since the experts in the field meet on regular and timely intervals at the CCCA and the daily tumor conferences deal with every type of tumor, we can guarantee a fast and uncomplicated procedure.

Tumorboards

At the CCCA, all treatment decisions during the course of a cancer disease are mandatorily evaluated and discussed in interdisciplinary tumor boards, which are held daily for all entities. In the boards, all disciplines possibly contributing to diagnosis and treatment are represented, and a treatment concept is decided by consensus. The specific therapy is then carried out on an outpatient or inpatient basis in the respective specialized departments of the CCCA.

Second opinion consultations

Upon request, patients are supported by us with a second opinion consultation and depending on the situation, also in an interdisciplinary setting. When a cancer diagnosis is made, many people are filled with uncertainties and fears. Here, a "second opinion", i.e. an independent assessment of a diagnosis and a planned or ongoing treatment concept, can be helpful, secure trust and, in individual cases, also point out alternative options.
